One that connects to Square both ways, so the booking and the bill meet on the same guest. Plenty of booking tools only read from Square, or skip it. Stampede seats a booking straight onto the Square till, and a walk-in rung up at the till appears back in Stampede. One where the reward comes off the bill at your own till, not in a separate app your team has to open. On Stampede, members turn points into a Square gift card or a Square-linked discount, and the card lives in Apple and Google Wallet with no app to download. If a simple stamp card is all you need, a lighter stamp app will do the job.

Sometimes, and usually one way. Beambox, for example, imports Square customers who have an email address. Stampede puts the Wi-Fi login and the Square spend on the same guest profile, so the walk-in who joined your Wi-Fi on Friday is the same guest whose bill you can see at the till.

Ask which way the data flows. A one-way link copies your Square customers in. A two-way link also sends things back to the till, such as a seated booking, a table order or a reward. Then ask whether each bill lands on the guest who paid it. That last step is what lets you market on real visits rather than a list of email addresses.

Not with Stampede. Deposits are collected online when the guest books and recorded against that booking, and your Square till carries on as it is. Some booking tools tie deposits to their own card processing: Dojo’s booking policies, for example, are for Dojo Payments customers.
