Turn off the Wi-Fi login page
Switch the Stampede login page off a guest network when you pause, leave or change owner, on a SnapGuard box, UniFi or other Wi-Fi kit.
2 min read · Updated
In short: the login page is switched off on your Wi-Fi kit: Guest Network on a SnapGuard box, or your guest network's portal on your own controller.
Before you switch it off
Guests then join that network without the login page, so no sign-ups or guest details are collected there until you switch it back on.
On a SnapGuard box
- Choose your venue in the venue switcher, top left (on a phone, tap Menu first).
- Go to Wi-Fi › SnapGuard › Networks.
- Click your guest network's row to open Edit Network.
- Under Options, switch off Guest Network (Enable captive portal for sign-in).
- Click Save.
- Click Build in the Build pending bar at the bottom, then wait for it to finish.
To bring the login page back, do the same and switch Guest Network on.
On UniFi
- Go to Wi-Fi › Hardware › Overview, with your venue chosen.
- Under Captive portal by SSID, switch off your guest network. Guests only see the Stampede login page on networks where it is switched on.
Do not use Unlink this controller from the venue for this: guest Wi-Fi stops working until you connect again.
On other Wi-Fi kit
The login page is set in your controller, using the values copied in at setup, such as the Portal URL. Ask your IT provider to remove them from the guest network.
Leaving, or a change of owner
When the account closes, the login page stops working and guests can see Account needs attention instead of getting online. Before the end date, switch it off as above, or ask whoever runs your Wi-Fi to. See cancel or change your subscription.
Not sure who runs your Wi-Fi? We can help.
Email support at agent@stampede.ai with:
- Your venue name.
- Whether you are pausing, leaving or changing owner.
- Your IT provider's contact details, if you have one.
Check it worked
On your own phone, join the guest Wi-Fi. You get online without the login page.
Good to know
- On a SnapGuard box, this changes only the network you edit. Other networks carry on.
- Guests see a billing message rather than your page? See guests see Account needs attention.
- Only Admin, Moderator, Marketing, Reports and IT can see Wi-Fi.
