My marketing emails are going to spam

Send from a verified address on your own domain, then add the DNS records Stampede shows you so the domain is authenticated.

1 min read

In short: usually your domain is not authenticated. Send from your own domain and add its DNS records in Domains until the status reads Success.

Check your sending domain

  1. Go to Marketing › Domains.
  2. Under Type, Public is a free address (Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail) and needs no authenticating. Custom is your own domain.
  3. Under Status, Success means authenticated. Pending, Failed or Not started still need work.
  4. Only Public? Add an address on your own domain first.

Authenticate your domain

  1. Click Manage next to your custom domain.
  2. Scroll to DNS records.
  3. Copy each Name and Value with its copy button.
  4. At your DNS provider, add each one as a CNAME record, exactly. Stampede names the provider when it can find it.
  5. Back in Stampede, click Refresh.

Check it worked

The page shows This domain is authenticated and Success. Still Pending? Check each record, then click Refresh again later.

If that does not fix it

Domain stuck at Pending or Failed, or emails from an authenticated domain still in spam?

  • A campaign that went to spam, and which inbox, for example Gmail or Outlook.

Good to know

  • Until a sender address is verified, emails are sent from a default Stampede address.
  • Free addresses have limits when you send marketing email from Stampede.
