Set up a quiz, live music or set-menu night

In short: go to Bookings › Events › Booking Events, click New event, add dates, hours and charges, then click Create event.

Create the event

1. Go to Bookings › Events › Booking Events, then choose your venue.
2. Click New event.
3. Add a Name, Event description and Header image.
4. Set the Minimum party size and Maximum party size.
5. Leave Active on. Hidden keeps it off your events page and normal booking times, but the direct link still works.
6. Switch on Allow booking alerts to email waiting guests when a time opens. See booking alerts.

Set dates and hours

1. Under Dates, add each date. Set Timing and duration and Tables and availability.
2. Under Service hours, switch on each event day and set its hours.

Block regular bookings

Under Booking availability, turn on Block all booking types and pick Full day or During event hours. To block only some, set Filter mode instead and pick each with Add booking type.

No booking types yet? Turn on Block regular bookings during this event instead, and choose Full day or During event hours.

Add a charge and save

1. Under Charges and policies, turn on Cancellation charges, Deposit requirements or Full payment (one at a time).
2. Set the amount, per cover or as a flat rate.
3. For cancellation charges, set the Free cancellation period and switch on terms and conditions.
4. Click Create event.

Check it worked

Click Web link on the event in the list and open it to see the event on your booking page.

Good to know

• Cancellation charges only take money if someone lets you down; deposits and full payment take it up front.
• To sell admission rather than tables, see ticketed events.
• Only Admin, Moderator, General Manager and Reports can set up events. FOH and Bookings Manager cannot see Events.
