Send an SMS campaign

In short: add an SMS sender, then create a campaign, write up to 130 characters, choose an audience and send or schedule it.

Add an SMS sender

1. Go to Marketing › SMS Senders.
2. Click Add sender.
3. Type the SMS sender name guests see: 1 to 11 characters, using letters, numbers and spaces.
4. Click Create sender.

Create the campaign

1. Go to Marketing › SMS Campaigns.
2. Click Create.
3. Type a Campaign name, choose an SMS sender, then click Create campaign.
4. Write your SMS message. The counter shows how many of the 130 characters you have used.
5. Check Send from.
6. Under Audience, choose who it goes to.
7. Under Spend per head, set Amount per head to what a guest typically spends. Stampede uses it to work out the revenue the campaign drives.

Send it

1. Click Send now.
2. Click Send now again to confirm.

To send later instead, turn on Schedule for later, pick a date and time, then click the Schedule for button.

Check it worked

After Send now, the report opens with Delivered, Undelivered, Failed and Opt-out. A scheduled campaign goes back to the SMS Campaigns list.

Send button greyed out?

Hover over it to see why:

• Add a campaign name, message and sender first. Fill these in, with 130 characters or fewer.
• This campaign needs approval before it can be sent. With the Admin role, click Approve campaign, then Approve. Without it, click Send approval request.
• You are on a trial. Contact Stampede to send this campaign.
• You are over your SMS credit limit. Click Buy more credits under Credit limit.

Good to know

• The Preview (eye) button shows a Send preview form, but it does not send a test text yet.
• Once sent, click the three dots on its row, then Preview, to see your message with the opt-out link added after it.
• Your SMS credit is tracked in SMS Ledger.
• Only Admin, Moderator and Marketing can see Marketing.
