New managed infrastructure built for hospitality environments provides reliable, secure guest Wi-Fi

Stampede, a provider of unified guest engagement technology, today at the opening of Hospitality Tech360, announced the launch of SNAPguard, a reliable, secure guest Wi-Fi solution that is built for hospitality environments. This plug-and-play solution transforms hospitality operators’ guest Wi-Fi experience from a fragile, inconsistent service into a managed infrastructure that is fast, predictable, reliable and secure – especially during peak trading periods.

SNAPguard achieves this by combining a pre-provisioned, on-site network gateway with a virtual cloud network, giving direct control over how guest devices authenticate, connect and behave on the network. This results in hospitality operators providing guests with near-instant logins to their guest Wi-Fi network, with most users authorised in under one second, even during peak service. It also means that guest data can be immediately captured in the CRM, enabling branded engagement marketing and offers during and after login, driving incremental revenue and brand loyalty.

“Today’s guests expect fast, free Wi-Fi when visiting hotels, bars and restaurants. The Wi-Fi experience at many venues has generally not been great for many guests in the past across the hospitality sector. Many Wi-Fi captive portal services out there are cumbersome to install, less reliable and they don’t manage customer data and guest engagement efficiently. To combat these problems, we created SNAPguard – which makes it easy for hospitality venues to install and provide guests with fast, secure and reliable Wi-Fi access,” said Patrick Clover, Founder and CEO of Stampede.

“SNAPguard also enables operators to develop a branded customer-facing guest Wi-Fi proposition that sits within the unified Stampede platform. This equips operators to capture guest data accurately and effectively, and to use this data to support and grow guest engagement and revenue across the business. Uniquely, changing the guest experience in the other direction is also possible with SNAPguard. Operators can use guest profiles within Stampede to dictate the experience they receive on guest Wi-Fi, including connection speeds and paid, free or hybrid networks.”

The Stampede SNAPguard solution is based on robust Mikrotik devices, which come preconfigured and ready to install. The SNAPguard device sits locally at the venue between the guest Wi-Fi VLAN and the Stampede cloud. Critically, because SNAPguard avoids double NAT and inbound firewall dependencies, it delivers true plug-and-play deployment – reducing configuration errors and eliminating the need for specialist networking expertise. From a compliance perspective, SNAPguard is iOS and Android captive portal compliant, GDPR-ready by design, and aligned to ISO 27001, SOC 2 controls and Cyber Essentials enterprise security standards. It also enforces hospitality-safe network separation, protecting POS, staff systems and CCTV while supporting insurer and safeguarding expectations.

By running a full local authentication and captive portal server on the device inside the venue, SNAPguard removes reliance on fragile access-point splash pages and third-party redirect logic – giving direct, end-to-end control over how guest and local devices connect and authenticate. Supporting next-generation standards including DHCP Option 114, it resolves the Apple and Android auto-login failures that commonly affect traditional guest Wi-Fi deployments. The result is fast, predictable and secure guest Wi-Fi that performs reliably even at peak service, giving operators across hotels, bars and restaurants a connectivity experience that actively supports guest engagement, loyalty and brand reputation.
