How to Maximise Revenue For The Sports Event Finals Weekend

How to Maximise Revenue For The Sports Event Finals Weekend

It’s set to be an exciting weekend ahead for all sports fans. The Euro 2020 championship finals AND the Wimbledon men finals will all happen this Sunday. One thing is for sure, buzzing venues are to be expected! Start getting prepared for those final sports matches to maximise revenue and to ensure smooth operations for the weekend ahead and of course happy and satisfied customers.

4 Main Areas to Focus On For Maximum Revenue Outcome From Sports Events

1. Pre-booking

Get on your pre-booking promotions if you haven’t already started them. If you’re on it and have only a few places left, make sure to run a “last-chance” booking booster promotion

To nudge people further into bookings, think about offering a pre-match special menu with limited availability only and/or pre-order meal and drink packages.

2. Email & SMS campaigns

With the last semi-finals of the Euro 2020 taken place yesterday, the final teams are set. Whereas, for Wimbledon, we won’t know until Friday.

This doesn’t mean that you can’t prepare any email & SMS campaigns already. But you can create yourself some templates and use placeholders for the imagery and potential teams and winner for now. This will save you a lot of time later on.

3. Social Media Posts

Social media posts are probably the easiest and quickest to prepare. The same applies here as with the email & SMS templates, use placeholders for now until final matchups are set. Make sure to use the right trending sports hashtags for optimum reach.

If you want to go one extra step, prepare some posts for the potential winning teams already, so you don’t have to bother with getting a post ready when you’re busy on the floor during match days.

For a wider reach, push your posts to your stories. Stories are also ideal if you have some last-minute availability spaces at your venue to fill in. And you can also use them to update your customers once you’re fully booked.

Be creative with your posts prior to the matches to get some further engagement on your socials and to create some excitement.

  • Poll – who will be the winner? How many scores? …
  • Football or tennis trivia quiz
  • Share themed memes
  • Hold fan contests

Last tip for your socials, don’t forget to ask your customers to share their experience at your venue on your socials and tag their family and friends.

4. WiFi Login Screen

One of the main reasons why people love to go somewhere to watch matches is the atmosphere. You’ve probably taken an effort and decorated your venue accordingly to create some fan vibes.

But what about your WiFi login screen? Your login screen is part of your overall customer experience, so make sure your online experience is in line with your offline one.

You can easily brand your splash screen to cater for any sort of events. Turn it into a “welcome to the fan zone” version and change the background image to display, for example, the flags or captains for each team.
