The business

A village restaurant.

The Truffled Hog is a village restaurant on College Square in Stokesley, North Yorkshire, open seven days a week for coffee, brunch, long lunches and Sunday roasts. The menu is seasonal, the meat comes from a local butcher and the scones and cookies are baked in house every morning.

It is one of three sites run by a local group, alongside two In the Wilde sites on the North York Moors, at Sutton Bank and Danby Lodge. The Group signed with Stampede in July 2026 and put the whole platform in at all three sites at once: guest Wi-Fi, bookings, reviews, marketing and loyalty, with Square at the till.

“A lot of hospitality businesses immediately think about discounts, but loyalty isn’t about discounts. It’s about knowing your customer, what they’re interested in. The loyalty scheme gives us exactly that, so we can give them what they want, and then they come back.”

“Stampede helps us all be a lot more organised. It means less unnecessary admin, so we can focus on the customer side of things and make sure everyone leaves feeling like they’ve had a really nice experience.”

Momentum

Over 1,100 members.

The Truffled Hog launched The Brunch Club, its Stampede loyalty programme, in August 2026. Guests earn a point for every pound they spend, plus points for joining, for signing in to the Wi-Fi, for referring a friend and on their birthday. In under three months, over 1,100 guests have joined.

There is no app to download. The card saves straight to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, and over 1,500 are now on guests’ phones. Staff scan it at the till on Square, so points land on the guest’s record as they pay.

And members come back. Of the loyalty members whose spend has been tracked, all but one have returned, at an average of two visits each.

“It’s just a little barcode. We scan it and it all links up. We have little cards on the table with a link to sign up, quite a lot of people are signing up, and people who were on our old loyalty scheme are moving over too.”
Cicely, Supervisor, The Truffled Hog

Brunch Club cards saved to guests’ phones, by wallet. No app, no plastic card: the pass lives next to their boarding passes and tickets.

Wallet passes issued from launch in August 2026 to 27 October 2026.

Bookings

Saturdays, booked ahead.

Bookings went live at The Truffled Hog in mid-August. On the first Saturday, none of the day’s bookings came in online. By Saturday 24 October, 36 had.

Walk-ins are counted too. Every order through Square creates a walk-in on the bookings diary, so the team sees the whole day in one place, not just the reservations.

“When you put a bill through on Square, it puts a table on automatically. On a Saturday when we’re really busy and we’ve forgotten to put all the tables in, you can just turn around and it’s all there. I can see which tables are full and which ones are free.”
Cicely, Supervisor, The Truffled Hog

Online bookings at The Truffled Hog on five Saturdays since bookings went live, read from the Stampede bookings diary.

Single-day counts for 15 August, 5 September, 3 October, 17 October and 24 October 2026.
“Previously you would get emails, phone calls and booking requests, and sometimes messages get lost. With Stampede we can contact the customer directly, link it to the booking request, and the front of house team have all that information to hand. So nothing falls through the gaps.”

Guest Wi-Fi

Three sites, ten days.

The Group’s guest Wi-Fi was live at all three sites within ten days of signing, with a branded network at each. Guests sign in with their email address and choose whether to hear from the venue by email and SMS.

Each sign-in becomes a guest profile in Stampede, with the consent and the time it was given recorded against it, and every later visit is added to the same profile. The same guest is recognised whether they connect in Stokesley, at Sutton Bank or at Danby Lodge, and the list belongs to the Group, not to a booking platform.

At The Truffled Hog, signing in to the Wi-Fi also earns Brunch Club points, so the two work together: a guest who connects is one step from joining.

Reviews

4.6 on Google.

The Truffled Hog is rated 4.6 stars on Google, across over 170 reviews. Guests single out the eggs Benedict, the cakes and the outdoor seating.

Since the Group joined Stampede, new Google reviews for all three sites land in one place, next to the guest’s record. Each one is tagged as positive, mixed or negative, and the team can reply from Stampede, with a draft written in the venue’s own tone if they want one, rather than logging in to three separate listings.

Reporting

One set of numbers.

Loyalty, bookings, Wi-Fi and reviews all report in the same place. The Group can see members and wallet passes, bookings by source, Wi-Fi sign-ins and marketing opt-ins, and reviews for each of its three sites, side by side.

It is where the loyalty and bookings figures on this page came from.

“It gives you customer details and customer spend. It tells you what they like, what they don’t like, how often they come, which marketing events work and which don’t. A lot of hospitality businesses don’t use that information. Stampede gives you the opportunity to.”
