Ask the menu in a sentence

Guests can search the menu with a sentence such as two kids and someone vegan, and get a shortlist with a reason for each dish. If a menu carries no allergen information, it says so and asks the guest to speak to staff.

What's new

Three that fill the room, and take the money.

Seat the parties your diary was turning away, let guests order and pay from the table, and give loyalty members something they can actually spend at your till. All three are built and released. If they are not on your account yet, they are one conversation away.

    Smart Seating

A booking system picks a table once, at the moment the booking is made, and never looks at it again. By Friday night that plan has gone stale: couples are sitting on four-seaters and the gaps left behind fit nobody, so guests are told there is no availability while your room could actually seat them. Smart Seating is the head waiter who fixes that. An algorithm weighs every single booking request against the whole room, all day, and quietly reshuffles tables so your capacity is always the most the room can actually hold.

    • When a guest asks for a time that shows as unavailable, it asks one question: could we seat them by quietly moving one or two bookings that have not arrived yet? If yes, the time simply becomes bookable, and the moves happen automatically when they book.
    • Never more than two moves. Locked bookings, seated guests, tables with an order running and joined-up group tables are never touched, and no guest is ever told a table number when they book online, so nobody notices anything.
    • A second trick, shorter sittings. A table free at 8:45pm is useless to a booking that needs two clear hours, but perfect for a couple. Offer it as a shorter sitting, with the length shown to the guest before they book.
    • Test it on your own book before you decide. Replay any date range, read-only, and see every booking your availability turned away that the room could have seated, ranked by party size, with the exact table moves and what the night was worth.
    • Then measure it on live traffic. Shadow mode scores every real guest search against the optimiser without changing a single thing a guest sees, so after a fortnight you have the demand-weighted number rather than an estimate.
    • Every move is written into the booking history, and availability is re-checked at the moment of booking, so it never promises a table it does not have.

  • Square

    Table ordering

A guest scans the code on the table, reads your live Square menu, orders and pays, without downloading anything or waiting to catch a server’s eye. The order lands on the till knowing which table it came from. One more round at 9pm stops depending on whether anyone walked past.

    • The menu is your Square catalogue, live. Categories, items, prices, photos, modifier groups and their minimum and maximum rules all come straight from the till, so there is one menu to keep up to date rather than two.
    • Built for the floor, not just for collection. Each venue gets separate links for ordering at the table and ordering to collect, independently curated, so table service and pickup can offer different things at different prices.
    • The awkward parts are handled. Modifier rules are enforced as the guest builds the item, allergens, dietaries and calories sit on every product, and a basket containing alcohol asks for age confirmation before it will reach checkout.
    • Paid by card through Square at checkout, with the total recalculated from your own menu data before anything is charged, so the amount taken is always your amount.
    • Loyalty rewards come to the checkout too. A guest can put one or more of their own Square gift cards against the bill, and an order fully covered by them needs no card at all.
    • A basket is shareable. Send the link round the table, everyone adds their round, one order goes to the till.

  • LoyaltySquare

    Square reward vouchers

A loyalty reward your guests can actually spend. Points convert into a Square gift card, or into a reward linked to a real Square discount, so the value comes off the bill at your own till instead of being a promise a member has to explain to whoever is serving them.

    • Members convert their own points into a Square gift card from their loyalty account. You set how many points make a pound, the minimum needed to create one, and an optional cap on each.
    • You choose which Square accounts can issue them and what each one is called, so a group can run "The Beach Bar Gift Card" and "The Harbour Gift Card" from the same scheme.
    • The alternative is a Square-linked reward: a guided setup that creates the customer group for you, one Square account at a time, and lets you build the linked discount right there, or skip it and come back to it.
    • Redeeming is real, so the guest is asked first. Points leave the account the moment the code is generated, which is why the button reads "Redeem Reward" and asks them to confirm rather than quietly spending their balance on a preview.
    • Every card issued is listed with its balance, its state, the points it cost and the member it belongs to, so a query at the bar is one search rather than an argument.
    • They spend at the table too. Gift cards are accepted at table-ordering checkout, several on one order if a member has been saving.

    Wallet booking confirmations

Your venue in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet. A booking confirmation becomes a branded pass that lives where your guests already look, on the lock screen, with no app to download. Loyalty cards go in alongside it.

    • Passes are generated from your brand kit, so every one looks like your venue rather than a generic ticket.
    • A booking pass carries the date, time and party size, and updates itself when the booking changes.
    • Reminders surface on the lock screen ahead of the booking, so fewer tables go unfilled.
    • Loyalty cards join the wallet too, with points and rewards updating in real time, and downloads you can measure.

    Phone bookings

An AI host on your venue's phone line. It answers instantly, checks your live availability and books tables straight into the day planner, so a busy Friday service or a two in the morning enquiry never costs you a booking.

    • Answers in under a second, any hour of any day, greeting callers by your venue name.
    • Real bookings, not messages. It offers your actual times and booking types and creates the booking on the spot, tagged as a phone booking.
    • Names and email addresses are confirmed letter by letter, so the confirmation always lands.
    • You choose how it answers: let it take everything, or have it step in only when nobody picks up.
    • Every call is logged with its duration, outcome and a full transcript.

    Ticketed events

Sell tickets for anything you host: supper clubs, tastings, live music, New Year's Eve. Create the event, set the price, and take payment upfront inside the booking system you already run.

    • Name it, date it, price it, cap the numbers. Single evenings or a recurring series, a whole-venue takeover or a dozen seats at the bar.
    • Tickets are paid for at purchase rather than promised at the door, so an empty seat is no longer an unpaid one.
    • Every guest gets a wallet pass for the door, and you check them in with a scan or the door list.
    • Refunds stay in your control: you decide who gets one and how much, never the platform.

Ask the menu in a sentence

Guests can search the menu with a sentence such as two kids and someone vegan, and get a shortlist with a reason for each dish. If a menu carries no allergen information, it says so and asks the guest to speak to staff.

  • Bookings24 Sept

    Provisional holds

Hold a table for an enquiry before it is confirmed. Holds show in amber everywhere, and confirming one emails the guest their confirmation.

  • Payments24 Sept

Menu search reads the whole dish

Guest menu search now matches names, descriptions, section headings and dietary tags, so vegan finds vegan dishes, and it highlights the words that matched.

  • Platform24 Sept

    Referrals

Share a referral code or link from Connect. The venue you refer gets a free trial, and you are rewarded when it becomes a customer.

  • Payments23 Sept

    Shuffle food-hall vendors

A food-hall menu can shuffle its vendors for each guest, so nobody always holds the top slot. Any section can be kept in place.

  • Payments23 Sept

    Jump between menu sections

Guests on long menus can jump straight to a section, and the menu shows which section they are reading.

  • Payments23 Sept

    Easier editing for long menus

Menu sections now start collapsed, with Expand all and Move to top. Dragging sections, sub-sections and products holds its place and saves once.

  • Payments22 Sept

    Guests choose a size

Items sold in more than one size, such as wine by the glass or bottle, now show a size choice with its own price, and the right size reaches the basket.

  • Payments22 Sept

    Sub-sections on menus

Menu sections can hold sub-sections, which guests see as labelled groups under their heading. A new checkbox adds every product shown in the picker at once.

  • Payments22 Sept

Say how orders reach the guest

Each venue can say whether orders are brought to the table, collected from the counter or the guest's choice. The guest table picker now uses those words.

  • Bookings22 Sept

Pay now takes the real amount

When a guest chooses Pay now on a full-payment booking, the card form now shows and holds the actual amount due, instead of only saving the card.

  • Payments21 Sept

Guests see which choice is missing

If a guest taps Add with a required choice unanswered, the menu now says which one and scrolls to it.

  • Payments21 Sept

    Food-hall menus as cards

A food-hall menu can show each vendor or section as a card. Guests pick one, see its dishes, then come back for another.

  • Payments19 Sept

Import a menu from a PDF or photos

Point the importer at a menu PDF or upload photos of the pages. It reads the dishes, prices and allergens, matches them to your catalogue, and you check each row before it becomes a menu.

  • Bookings18 Sept

    Your own questions on enquiries

Add your own questions to the enquiry form and let guests choose which booking type or event they are asking about. Answers show on the enquiry and carry into the booking.

  • Marketing18 Sept

Duplicated campaigns keep their own tracking

A duplicated campaign's links now carry its own campaign tags, so bookings are credited to the copy. Templates start with blank tags.

  • Bookings17 Sept

    Voice agent reporting

Venues on the voice agent early access get a Reporting page with calls, bookings, conversion, deposits and guest spend for the last 7, 30 or 90 days. Each booking the agent took opens in the full booking panel.

  • Bookings17 Sept

    Event pages list their dates

An event's booking page lists its dates, skipping sold-out ones, and offers the event's own start times.

  • Bookings17 Sept

Menus with photos on the booking page

Menus on the booking page are now photo tiles, and the menu preview leads with its photo. On desktop they sit in the right-hand column under What's on.

  • Bookings17 Sept

What's on leads the booking page

On desktop, the booking page opens its right-hand column with up to three upcoming events as photo cards. Events look the same wherever they appear.

  • Bookings17 Sept

    Booking searches you can share

The booking page keeps the guest's date, party size and time in its link, so a reload, a shared link or the back button returns to the same search.

See it on your own floor.
