Sharing Success and Inspiration
Some of you may remember an article from earlier this year in which we looked at what made this video by Wagamama’s Executive Chef Steve Mangleshot so good. (You can catch up on that article here.) It’s still a great example, and like many others, Steve has kept going with the series.
Since those early examples, video content from hospitality businesses has gone from strength to strength.
We recently discovered this article in Restaurant Business discussing the success of video campaigns by various US operators and chefs over the past few months, as they iterated on the process and made it work better for them.
The article has some fantastic technical detail on setup, devices, people involved and their role in the production. As with many others, the featured businesses started with simple cooking demos or meal kits, which then evolved into live events, and interactive cooking classes.
Now that more people are well adjusted to using video software – having done so for several months – getting a sizeable audience to engage is far easier now than ever before.
As a result of the iterations and lessons learned, businesses like those in the article are now able to generate some additional revenue from something that started as a bit of free content.
It’s a short article but full of inspiration, and well worth a read.
If you’ve been making videos, we’d love to see them, so send us your links!
