<p>Capturing GDPR compliant customer data in order to run effective and targeted marketing campaigns is one of the toughest challenges faced by businesses today.</p>

<p>“We had a standard WiFi with a password in the beginning &#8211; it didn’t have any of the features that Stampede does,” Arthur reveals.</p>

<p>After a year of searching for a solution which would enable them to capture customer data in a much more efficient and effective manner through the free WiFi they offered to their customers, Brother Marcus came across B2B hospitality technology company Stampede.</p>



<p>Customers can now quickly connect to Brother Marcus’ WiFi without the need for a password, using a one-off login through a captive portal with Brother Marcus branding. Their device will then automatically reconnect when they return to the venue.</p>



<p>“They [Stampede] manage the guest WiFi. We don’t have that much involvement at all. When our customers login, they can opt in or out to share date with us. That info gets shared automatically with Mailchimp. Then we send out all of our marketing and newsletters through Mailchimp,” Arthur explains.</p>



<p>“The only thing I do is update the home screen that the guests land on, which at the moment goes straight to our Instagram page.”</p>



<p>Brother Marcus has captured over 38,000 customer records since they started using Stampede for their guest WiFi in 2019.</p>



<p>Being able to not only quickly and easily collect customer data for marketing purposes but also have this data automatically fed into their marketing software, has represented a major time saving for Arthur and his staff.</p>

<p>For this referral campaign, you need to access a list of those customers who have&nbsp;<strong>given you feedback or have left a review</strong>. Ideally positive feedback at that! Many online review systems will have a contact list stored that you can access.</p>



<p>If you don’t have access to that, then seek out your customers who exhibit loyalty with their&nbsp;<strong>visit or booking frequency</strong>. It goes without saying that if they visit and spend a lot, they can be considered loyal.</p>



<h5 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>2) The Trigger Event</strong></h5>



<p>The trigger event in this case will be&nbsp;<strong>time-based</strong>. This means you have to segment your reviews by ‘<strong>customer who has left a positive review within the last … days.</strong>’</p>



<p>You can choose a timeframe that works best for you. However, customer memory and engagement will be higher with less time in between. You can also set this up as an immediate trigger and your campaign will be sent straight after someone has left a review.&nbsp;</p>



<p>If you’re basing it on loyalty, then the trigger is ‘<strong>total number of visits is greater than [number]’</strong>.</p>



<p>You can easily turn this campaign into an automated one so that you don’t have to update it and send it manually.</p>

<p>The first part of your messaging should focus on acknowledging your customers’ feedback and/or experience they had at your venue.</p>
