For more than 50 years the world has been flocking to the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) to get a peek at the latest breakthrough technologies. The CES was the place to launch the computer mouse, CD players, smart homes and 3D printers. Since its first show in 1967, more than <a href="https://www.ces.tech/Media/New-Product-Launches" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">700.000 products</a> have presented at the CES.

<h3>WPA3 Protocol</h3>
There has been a lot of ongoing discussion about the security flaws in the currently used WPA2 security control after the discovery of the <a href="https://www.stampede.ai/blog/wpa2-breach-is-your-wifi-safe" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">KRACK breach back in October</a>. At CES 2018, the WiFi-Alliance announced a new and more secure WiFi Protected Access security protocol.  Added improvements will expulse anyone who tries to snoop around the sensitive data that is constantly exchanged between devices and access points on wireless networks. Unlike WPA2, WPA3 will now block authentication after a set number of failed login attempts. The new protocol is expected to arrive at the beginning of 2018 and we hope manufacturers hurry up to supply us with the suitable hardware for it soon.
<h3>Let&#8217;s connect</h3>
One of the most exciting topics this year was the Internet of Things, an expression as general as the use that we can get from it. Everything is now connected to the internet, exchanging and collecting data to connect our devices, homes, cars and lives. At the CES, we had the first opportunity to look at smart cities, which are fully connected and probably know more about our behaviours and routines than we do ourselves. These smart cities connect absolutely everything, from your cat’s smart necklace to a self-steering car. Another emerging technology that was discussed during the event was the Internet of Life Saving Things (IoLST), which is focused on using connected technologies and captured data to save valuable seconds and lives in case of emergency. For example, a smart watch could detect a heart attack and immediately  call an ambulance &#8211; not bad for a device that was once used to just tell time!
Autobots, roll out!
There was a lot of buzz in Las Vegas this week about the latest developments in the automotive sector. All the big players found their way to the CES this year (so at least they’ve got the navigation systems down right). The trend continues with vehicle technologies taking away most responsibilities from human drivers and focus on safety by connectivity. This is a great mobility enhancement for seniors and disabled people who can&#8217;t otherwise get around. The coolest thing we saw? How about steering a car with nothing but human brain signals (which could be a good or bad thing, depending on the level of intelligence of the person behind the wheel).
Health is Wealth
An immense amount of smart devices at CES were aimed at becoming your own personal trainer. We saw sleep tracking devices that learn your sleep routine and help you to get the most out of the best time of the day and smart <a class="" href="http://www.rotextech.com/en/product.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">tracking tattoos</a>, as thin as a sheet of paper, that inform you about heart rate or stress levels. Another fascinating innovation was <a href="https://www.oskawellness.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Pulse</a>, a non-drug pain relief device that works with pulsed electromagnetic frequency to decrease pain at a cellular level. Pretty impressive!

Breakdown: 3 Ways Customers Advocate Your Hospitality Brand

There’s been plenty of talk about “pivoting” in the business world as lockdowns affected normal trading. As a quick and temporary solution to an unexpected problem, a pivot works well to sustain sales and spending, but a long term solution to staying flexible and resilient is what many operators are looking for now.



 According <a href="https://kam-media.co.uk/diversification-in-pubs/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">to recent research by KAM Media</a> and TWC (https://twcgroup.net) such a solution could come from diversification. Multi-functional spaces, hybrid business models, it has many names but what it actually looks like is bike repair shops with small cafes inside, local artists exhibiting in restaurants, kitchen and bathroom showrooms selling locally crafted homewares and decorations. We’ve all seen them in town centres and village high-streets, and for good reason &#8211; it works.&nbsp;



 As KAM Media writes:



 “Straddling retail and hospitality and creating multiple ‘points of entry’&nbsp;



for customers across different dayparts, different occasions and different missions.”



 Their article focuses on pubs and what people would like to see from them by way of diversification. Traditionally, local pubs have done well sticking to what they know. But with changed opening hours, restrictions on alcohol sales and new technology being implemented faster than ever, the opportunity arises to broaden horizons and give people new reasons to come through the door.



 The top 5 most popular alternative uses for pubs came out as follows:



<ol><li>Using their car park for events (i.e. Xmas markets)</li><li>GP (doctor/pharmacy) pop-up surgery</li><li>Talks from recognised authors/speakers</li><li>Local meet and greet groups (e.g. walking tours start/finish location)</li><li>Buy a mini-keg of beer/ale/craft to takeaway for home consumption</li></ol>

Consumers appreciate speed and convenience. Pair this with a pandemic that’s encouraged people to stay at home and you have the premise for why online ordering has recently seen exponential growth. While there’s <a href="https://stampede.ai/blog/why-you-should-put-your-restaurant-on-a-delivery-app-now/">no longer room for argument</a> as to whether deliveries should be an option for restaurants, the debate of how they should be administered still stands. &nbsp;

Did you know that revenue generated by off-premise dining makes up 44% of all restaurant sales, with 25% of those orders accounting for delivery?<a href="https://www.restaurantbusinessonline.com/operations/how-do-third-party-delivery-players-stack">[1]</a>



As such, the aim of this article is to guide restaurant owners through the decision-making process when it comes to answering the following question:



Should restaurants provide delivery themselves (DIY) &#8211; or should they rely on third-party services?



To help you work out what’s best for your business, let’s work through the pros and cons of the two options.&nbsp;

DIY Delivery 



Pros



<ul><li>If you want full control of your restaurant’s order and delivery system, then DIY delivery is the way to go. Having complete reign gives you the ability to control your delivery logistics so that you can put every effort into keeping your customers happy with your service.</li></ul>



<ul><li>In-house delivery methods allow restaurant owners and managers the freedom and flexibility to define their own product-offering and business model. For example, there are many third-party services that are restrictive by the type of products they can deliver.&nbsp;</li></ul>



<ul><li>By cutting out the middleman, you can reduce the potential for communication breakdown. There is less room for error when customers direct their orders to the source. At the same time, you can own the conversation with your customers where you provide them with options to order online or via a phone call. </li><li>Using your own vehicles is a great branding opportunity. Many companies use vehicles wrapped in eye-catching designs to get them noticed when driving around. It&#8217;s like a mobile billboard for your business, instead of a solo cyclist with a cuboid backpack.</li></ul>



Cons



<ul><li>Hiring delivery staff and delivery vehicles with in-house delivery operations can become costly.&nbsp; It can also be a complex procedure that adds to your admin, weighing you down with paperwork. </li></ul>



<ul><li>Even if you have been in the restaurant business for years, your expertise in modern-day delivery expectations may be lacking. This could lead to disrupted logistics and incompetence that could give your restaurant a bad rep. So, if you are not prepared to master new skills, then “DIY” may not be the way to go.&nbsp;</li></ul>



<ul><li>If things go wrong with an in-house delivery, there’s just no way to “pass on the buck”. If your customer is dissatisfied, then you will have to take full accountability for bad experiences. It’s fully up to you to provide ways to keep your restaurant customers happy.</li></ul>



Third-party Delivery Pros and Cons



Pros



<ul><li>Outsourcing delivery gives you room to breathe. By relying on delivery service apps to do the hard parts for you, you can focus exclusively on the tangible things you provide to your patrons. You have more time and resources on your hands to concentrate on other important day-to-day efforts and bigger projects.</li></ul>



<ul><li>Choosing to outsource delivery to a third party can lower your fixed expenses. It cuts out the need to pay wages to delivery staff and you won’t need to take out extra insurance. You also won’t need to purchase a fleet of delivery vehicles – which can put a huge dent in your profits.&nbsp;</li></ul>



<ul><li>Using a third-party delivery service has the potential to direct new business to you. Most third-party delivery services use web and mobile applications to run their services, with big advertising budgets to get consumers on board. The apps are out there doing the hard work of bringing you potential new customers.</li></ul>



Cons



<ul><li>When you rely on a third-party service application to run your deliveries, then you lose a certain amount of influential control over your patrons. For instance, you cannot customise your customer experience so that it completely meets the goals and values of your brand. You also rely on third-party staff members, who you may never meet, to be the face of your restaurant.&nbsp; At least with in-house delivery, you can train employees in exacting the delivery standards that you would like your customers to experience.&nbsp;</li></ul>



<ul><li>Commissions and fees. Third-party delivery software services are convenient in the sense that you typically only pay commission per transaction. However, this commission can take a hefty chunk out of your profits, sometimes up to 35%. Depending on your type of establishment, staff, wages, and vehicle availability may work out cheaper for a DIY delivery operation.&nbsp;</li></ul>



<ul><li>Third-party apps rely on technology to work and if there’s been a technical hitch in the system, it can lead to broken communication and an unhappy customer. While it may be the third-party’s fault that your customer is dissatisfied, it’s still your reputation on the line.&nbsp;</li></ul>



The Bottom Line…



Both DIY in-house and third-party delivery options are weighted with advantages and drawbacks. But regardless of how you decide to run your delivery operation, it’s always a good idea to incorporate some sort of delivery software into your system. <a href="https://storekit.com/advice/restaurant-software-a-guide/">Technology comes in all shapes and sizes and with its help</a>, you can streamline your logistics and optimise your operation as a whole. 



If you&#8217;re looking for more control and flexibility, DIY is the best option. However, if you favour speed and convenience, outsourcing with a third-party delivery app would be a better fit.

Comparing In-House Delivery and Third-Party Delivery Apps

As soon as it was announced that hospitality businesses should collect contact details when reopening, the topic of marketing to track and trace customers was a major point of contention. It’s uncharted territory for everyone and not something that was factored in when GDPR was created.&nbsp;



Many specialists have issued warnings about using track and trace contact details to market to customers visiting hospitality venues. And while such warnings are warranted, <a href="https://www.bighospitality.co.uk/Article/2020/06/24/Coronavirus-track-and-trace-7-steps-to-complying-with-data-protection-law-GDPR-hospitality-restaurants-bars">they were issued very early</a> on and didn’t take into consideration exactly how customer data would be collected.



So we’re going to try and provide some clarity in the foggy area of whether you can market to customers who provide their details for track and trace.



<h4 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-in-short">In Short</h4>



YES it’s possible to market to track and trace customers, with certain measures in place.



It all comes down to empowering customers to make the choice. That’s what GDPR is ultimately all about &#8211; giving people more control over their personal information and its use.



<h4 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-breaking-it-down">Breaking It Down</h4>



If your method of data collection and storage for track and trace gives the customer no option to manage, update or easily opt-in or out of communications then it’s a no go. A basic pen and paper or spreadsheet collection method would fall into this category.



When it comes to digital track and trace systems, it’s pretty much the same story. When a customer provides contact details, such as by scanning a QR code and filling in a form, are they given the choice to receive marketing information? Can they update their own information and opt-out at any time? If the answer is no to any these then once again it’s not possible to use their details beyond track and trace.



This is the risk with many of the newly developed apps that launched within days of the reopening guidelines being published. &nbsp;They’ve only been designed to do track and trace in terms of capture and compliance. There’s no way to layer the marketing option on top.



And that’s why we can say that it is possible to market to them. At <a href="https://stampede.ai/covid-19/track-and-trace/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Stampede</a> our system is already set up to handle all the GDPR for data collection.

As long at it’s in the customers’ power to choose, then there is no problem with giving them the option to join your mailing list when they sign up to Track and Trace.



<h4 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-food-for-thought">Food For Thought</h4>



When the GDPR legislation was rolled out people focused more on the headaches it would cause for businesses and marketers. Over time we&#8217;ve all learned to work within it and it&#8217;s become another piece of the scenery. 



But now GDPR shows itself in a new light. Where we once thought of it as restrictive, GDPR now acts as the fall-back needed to make better decisions on how we treat customer data. Without its clear rules, setting up something like Track and Trace would be far more complicated. Just look at the state-to-state situation in the USA. No hard and fast rules on data protection and collection have made a track and trace system almost impossible to set up there.

Out of sight, out of mind. How do you win back lost customers that haven’t paid you a visit for a while? It’s well known that&nbsp;retaining an existing customer is much cheaper than acquiring a new one.&nbsp;So, it’s worth sending a little reminder from your side to win those customers back.

1) The Data



For this scenario, you’ll need to access your&nbsp;time-stamped visitor data, which can be obtained from various sources:



<ul><li>Last WiFi login from captive portal / guest WiFi</li><li>Last booking date from booking system</li><li>Last stamp / interaction from loyalty scheme</li><li>Last purchase from eCommerce system</li></ul>



<h5 class="wp-block-heading">2) The Trigger Event</h5>



In this case, the trigger is if the&nbsp;customer hasn’t been at your venue for a certain period of time.



Choose a time interval that makes the most sense for your business and set it up as an automated trigger. Though, the longer you wait, the harder it gets to re-engage them.



You could even set up two triggers, a short time interval, e.g. three weeks and a long time interval, e.g. three months since last visit.



<h5 class="wp-block-heading">3) The Messaging</h5>



Remind customers why they should come back by highlighting&nbsp;what makes your venue special and worth a visit, e.g. large outside sitting area, signature dish, events, etc.



You can also include new menu items, limited specials or any other updates that make customers curious or even fear that they might miss out on something.



<h5 class="wp-block-heading">4) The Offer</h5>



Highlighting what makes you stand out might not be enough though. The easiest way is to further entice them by including an offer or promotion.



Make sure your&nbsp;offers are relevant and timely. Send drink or dinner offers out before the weekend, e.g. Friday midday. Whereas your ‘coffee for free’ should be in your customer’s inboxes the night before.&nbsp;

If you&#8217;re not offering WiFi for your Airbnb guests. You&#8217;re already losing out. According to a recent survey in <a href="https://www.tripadvisor.com/TripAdvisorInsights/n2670/6-key-travel-trends-2016">TripBarometer</a>, nearly half of all travellers &#8211; 46% &#8211; considered in-room WiFi a &#8220;must-have.&#8221; So if you don&#8217;t have WiFi in your property, your listing isn&#8217;t even going to show up when Millennials and Digital Nomads click the &#8220;On-site WiFi&#8221; box in Airbnb searches. But how do you ensure your offered WiFi is secure?







Even if you already have WiFi in your Airbnb places, you could still be leaving yourself open to hackers and those bent on stealing your data. 



You know that router sitting in the living room you use to connect to the internet? You know &#8211; the one out in plain sight. Yeah &#8211; that one &#8211; the router provided by your internet company that is still protected with the default password. The <a href="https://stampede.ai/blog/take-the-risk-out-of-guest-wifi/">default password</a> that is probably on a sticker on the bottom of the router somewhere.&nbsp;I think you can see where this is going.



But what to do? You want to give your Airbnb guests an <a href="https://stampede.ai/blog/how-marketing-with-wifi-benefits-your-business/">awesome experience,</a> so you can gather those <a href="https://stampede.ai/blog/the-power-of-reviews-and-recommendations/">positive reviews</a> and keep your place at the top of the listings. All this without leaving your data and valuable computer systems open up to evil-doers.



Don&#8217;t worry. There are a few simple precautions you can take to keep both you and your guests secure.



<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Keeping your Airbnb WiFi Secure</h4>



CHANGE YOUR ROUTER PASSWORD&nbsp;&#8211; Let&#8217;s start out simple. CHANGE THE DEFAULT ROUTER PASSWORD. You big dummy. Interesting trivia bit &#8211; one of the first tricks a hacker will try is checking default passwords. This is detailed in the 1989 computer security classic <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Cuckoo%27s_Egg">The Cuckoo&#8217;s Egg</a>.



INSTALL A GUEST WIFI DEVICE &#8211; If you don&#8217;t want to bother with changing passwords, <a class="" href="https://www.stampede.ai/blog/press/guest-wifi-the-fourth-emergency-service">Guest WiFi </a>allows you to set up a separate, more secure WiFii network exclusively for your Airbnbers. 



This keeps things secure by keeping them off your WiFi network. Simply take the guest Airbnb WiFi device, plug it into the router, adjust a few settings, and you&#8217;re good to go. Setup the Guest WiFi so users can register with their email address or even use a social login like Facebook. 



If you&#8217;re running a high volume Airbnb with a lot of turnover, you can even use the <a class="" href="https://www.stampede.ai/how-it-works#marketing">built-in marketing capabilities</a> of Guest WiFi devices. They allow you to gather valuable customer data and start building a mailing list or use the built-in SMS/Email messaging to alert previous guests to special offers or discounts.

INSTALL A VPN ROUTER &#8211; This is probably the most technically challenging of the bunch. A VPN (Virtual Private Network) encrypts your data and tunnels it to another network location. What&#8217;s the point of this? Thanks for asking &#8211; few of reasons here. 



Number one, this protects all your data, which is always a good thing. Your Airbnb guests can surf to their hearts content, knowing that they&#8217;re protected from the bad guys. Last, but not least, your ISP can&#8217;t see where the traffic is going on a VPN. So, if your visitors decide to get on your WiFi and download the latest Hollywood releases from the newest Pirate Cove site &#8211; you won&#8217;t be left holding the bag when the lawyers come calling.&nbsp;

Like many other suppliers to the hospitality industry, we’ve spent the last week coming to terms with the impact of COVID-19.



As news came in about what venues are doing to stay afloat, our product team got stuck into building an easy way for businesses to <a href="https://stampede.ai/blog/why-hospitality-businesses-should-focus-on-selling-gift-vouchers-now/">offer gift cards</a>. And in only a few short days of work, we have our Gifting section ready. It features a bespoke microsite, which you can customise with your logo, text, terms, specific locations and a main image.

Use the Stampede Marketing tools, or any other platforms you have, to send the microsite link to your customers.



Your customers can enter their details, select an amount to buy and will then be directed to a secure Stripe payment portal. Please note: you will need to set up a Stripe account, we can help with this.



This allows you to drum up support and funds to keep you going now. But also to give your customers something to look forward too.



To access your Gifting page &#8211; log into your Stampede account, navigate to Gifting on the menu bar on the left side and you’ll be good to go. You can create an unlimited number of voucher templates. Just add your text and theme colour.



Even more, it’ll pull in your existing branding from our WiFi Login if you’re using that feature too.



<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Spread The Word</h4>



It’s simple, fast to set up and effective. Now you need to share it. There are 4 built-in sharing options:



<ol><li>Ready-made template in Marketing</li><li>Website embed code for your own website</li><li>Sharable URL for your social channels (don&#8217;t forget to encourage your customers to share it)</li><li>Downloadable QR code, ready to print for your shop fronts</li></ol>



Customers who contribute to your venue will be sent an email for the value they put in, with a QR code to enable redemption in your POS.

New Feature Alert – Gift Cards

Apple ID is now available as a login method to <a href="https://stampede.ai/how-it-works/wifi/">Stampede Guest WiFi</a>. This latest addition to our captive portal further enhances the user experience for Apple device users.&nbsp;



The one-time login process with Apple ID is faster than typing (faster than we can type anyway). It comes with all the expected security features that go hand in hand with Apple ID. A user can login using Apple ID and remain anonymous to the network owner with just the settings in their profile. Additionally, if the user wants to receive updates and offers from the venue, they can enable this while still keeping their information private.



These new login features are exclusive to the Stampede Guest WiFi solution and are the first of their kind to be used this way.



There are also benefits to the businesses using our Guest WiFi who choose to enable Apple ID login. The number of customers using the Guest WiFi will increase with a faster, easier and trusted login. More customers using their Guest WiFi grows their database. This results in more people to contact via email and more reliable analytics data. The familiar “Sign in with Apple” button will be a welcome sight to many consumers, and following this facial recognition or biometrics &#8211; like fingerprint &#8211; can log you in.



This new login process for our captive portal solution adds to the current options of <a href="https://stampede.ai/blog/the-ultimate-beginners-guide-to-wifi-jargon/">social WiFi</a> (logging in using a social network profile such as Facebook) and more traditional data capture fields (such as email address and phone number)



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Setting Up Apple ID Login</h2>



To enable Sign in with Apple on your Stampede Guest WiFi, head to “Login Design” in left-hand navigation. Under the “Capture” tab you will find the slider button to activate Apple ID login at your venue(s). The button will only show to users attempting to connect on an Apple device.



Not sure how many people use Apple devices in your venue right now? Head over to “<a href="https://product.stampede.ai/analytics/devices">Analytics</a>” then to the “<a href="https://product.stampede.ai/analytics/devices">Devices</a>” section. Here you will be able to see a breakdown of venue visitors based on device, operating system and browser. By exploring “Devices” for Apple products or “Operating Systems” for iOS or OSX you’ll be able to understand the volumes of customers likely to use Apple ID login.

Cisco Meraki Integration with Stampede

New Feature – Loyalty By Stampede

It’s GDPR month! Yep, that’s right. Believe it or not, May 25, 2018 is right around the corner.

What&#8217;s so special about that date? Glad you asked. Because that&#8217;s when the <a class="" href="https://www.itgovernance.eu/eu-general-data-protection-regulation-gdpr" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">EU General Data Protection Regulation</a> (GDPR) takes effect, which applies to any organisation that handles EU residents’ personal data.
<h2>Why GDPR?</h2>
Ultimately, GDPR is a good thing for privacy. The GDPR law puts personal data back into the hands of the individual. Users will be able to see what data an organisation holds on them, download it, or even request to have it deleted.

<h2>What Does this have to do with my business?</h2>
Your business falls under GDPR if it:
<ul>
<li>Has an establishment in the EU</li>
<li>Provides goods or services to EU residents</li>
<li>Monitors the behaviour of EU residents</li>
</ul>
Which means that if you have a business in the EU and you&#8217;re offering WiFi for you customers and collecting data , such as email addresses, to verify their connection &#8211; GDPR applies to you. So after May 25, 2018, you’ll need to stay in compliance with GDPR law. Otherwise, you could be facing a fines of up to <a href="https://www.itgovernance.co.uk/dpa-and-gdpr-penalties" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">4% of your revenue or up to 20 million Euros</a>, whichever is greatest.
Yeah, they’re not kidding around.

The Doner Kebab chain, owned by &#8220;The German Doner Kebabs&#8221;, has now chosen to power guest WiFi to their customers across the globe through Stampede.
 German Doner Kebabs is a fast food retailer that has created a healthy and nutritionally balanced approach to traditional kebabs and was described by <a href="http://www.timeout.com/london/restaurants/german-doner-kebab">Time Out London</a> as, “kebabs without the guilt”, they opened their first store in Berlin in 1989 and now have over 60 stores worldwide.

Stampede Now Providing WiFi to German Doner Kebabs

Firstly we’d like to thank everyone who has been in touch already to find out more about using us to help with the contact detail collection.



As promised yesterday, we’d like to share <a href="https://marketing.stampede.ai/in-browser?message_id=mkm_ecac3cea89f5fef728f618e77581decc&amp;profile_id=" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">an example</a> of a fantastic reopening announcement email sent by The Waterway restaurant in the last couple of days. It’s one of the first reopening emails that we&#8217;ve seen but it really stood out.



 It starts with giving customers a taste of what to look forward to when returning. Then goes on to a six&nbsp;point breakdown of the measures they’ve taken to keep everyone safe, followed by a neat list of nine important updates to how things will operate at the restaurant.



 The list is extensive but not overly long. It covers ordering and paying, access to the venue, reservations, data collection and more. Everything that customers will need and want to know in advance.



 We especially like the picture of a staff member in a branded face mask for The Waterway!



 The email is a great showcase of how to reassure customers and generate demand at the same time at the start of your reopening communications. Client Spotlight: The Waterway

Getting up early has never been easy. Luckily, we&#8217;re blessed with coffee and people who have a passion for preparing good coffee. While enjoying a cup of java, we met Tom Hyde, co- founder of Brew Lab Coffee, at his shop on South College Street in Edinburgh.
Brew Lab Coffee opened about five years ago and is now a crucial part of many people’s daily routine. Instead of simply supplying Edinburgh with good quality coffee, Tom decided to go a step further and diversify the business. Opening a training lab beneath the shop was adding the “Lab” to Brew Lab . It&#8217;s used to train professionals and coffee lovers to brew their favourite drink to perfection. Furthermore, Brew Lab started selling their homemade Cold Brew last year (which we tried and it was delicious!).

Stampede Service Update – October 25, 2017

If you logged into your Connect dashboard you might have noticed a few changes inside &#8211; that&#8217;s because today we released our latest version of Stampede, Connect 3.1!

You&#8217;re not going to hurt our feelings if you didn&#8217;t notice it right away, as there weren&#8217;t any massive UI changes. However, we did introduce a whole raft of exciting new features &#8211; just take a look!
Business hours: It&#8217;s now possible to operate a network for as many different periods throughout the day as you wish instead of just one. We&#8217;ve also updated the business hours menu with a few UI tweaks.
Marketeer User: This will allow admins to create Marketeer accounts that will have the same privileges as a moderator but will be able to have marketing credits assigned to them on a monthly basis by their admin.
Fake Data: Populate a site with spoof data for demonstration and education purposes (not to be confused with fake news).
Spend per Head: Tell us how much a customer in your marketing audience is worth to you and we&#8217;ll show you how much money you&#8217;ve made. It&#8217;s like instant ROI.
Status Checker: This will allow for a user to check the setup of a network for errors and see useful info, such as when it was last online and if the Facebook ID is valid.
Nearly Online: We have been working on a massive overhaul of the splash screen in Stampede. For those of you doing custom branding, it will be a lot smoother and easier with a new integrated automatic colour picker based on the colour of your background image or logo. We will also be implementing a ‘simple’ and ‘advanced’ branding mode.
Bug Fixes: Small issues with UI and errors when switching between locations will be ironed out to make your day to day experience smoother.

Some highlights:
Stampede has recently taken equity funding, allowing it to grow from a team of four to nine, and this is soon set to increase to 16. Having launched in Edinburgh in April this year, after the firm started in 2015, it is now in 15 countries, with 487 locations in the UK and 505 globally including Vietnam, Brazil and Saudi Arabia. Deals came with the likes of Edinburgh tech incubator <a href="http://www.thisiscodebase.com">CodeBase</a> and <a href="http://www.livenationentertainment.com">Live Nation Entertainment</a> whose brands include Ticketmaster, and working with the entertainment giant to roll out its product across all its festivals.
